Frequently Asked Questions

An indoor retrofit bottle filling station is designed to add bottle-filling functionality to a compatible existing Elkay drinking fountain or hydration station. Instead of replacing the entire unit, a retrofit can provide a convenient way to upgrade an existing fountain with bottle-refilling capability. It attaches directly on top of the fountain, allowing users to refill reusable bottles quickly while preserving features like chilled water or filtration from the original setup. Popular brands include Elkay, Halsey Taylor, Oasis, and Murdock.

An Elkay water fountain bottle filler retrofit compatibility depends on your fountain's age and model—non-chilled fountains less than 10 years old and chilled ones less than 5 years old are generally suitable. Check our Compatibility Chart to review compatible fountain models before ordering. You can also provide the Serial ID from your fountain to our support team for a free compatibility check and recommendation on the right kit, such as the Elkay EZWSRK for EZ-style fountains.

Retrofitting saves time and money by upgrading your existing fountain without a full replacement, promoting sustainability by encouraging reusable bottle use. It maintains any existing chilled water or filtration, reduces plastic waste, and is ideal for high-traffic areas like schools or offices. Plus, installation is straightforward and preserves your setup's functionality.

Yes, when the existing fountain is compatible and in good condition. An Elkay retrofit bottle filler can add bottle-refilling functionality while allowing a facility to continue using its existing drinking fountain infrastructure. This can be useful for schools, offices, gyms, healthcare facilities, and other high-traffic buildings.

We offer free shipping on all orders with no minimums for the Continental U.S. Pricing varies by model (starting around $200–$400 for basic kits), and for bulk orders of more than 2 units, email us at support@bottlefillingstations.com for a custom quote and discount.
