Genuine Elkay WaterSentry® filters (with RFID chip) automatically reset the filter status light on most newer ezH2O models. Off-brand or chip-less filters usually won’t reset it.

Is Elkay bottle filler installation difficult? Can I do it myself?

It depends on the model and your experience — installation ranges from moderately straightforward to quite involved.

Retrofit kits (e.g., LZWSRK): Often the easiest — they convert existing drinking fountains in 1–3 hours with basic tools.

Surface-mount units (e.g., LZ8WSSSMC): More manageable (typically 2–4 hours) since they mount on the wall without major cutting.

In-wall / recessed or refrigerated models: More complex. These usually require plumbing, electrical work, wall framing, and proper drainage. Elkay’s own manuals recommend professional installation to ensure code compliance, avoid leaks, and protect the warranty.
