- Remove the front cover of the Elkay LZ8WSSSMC by loosening the two 5/16" hex screws on the underside of the cooler.
- Detach the hanger bracket and secure it to the wall using five screws in 7/16" diameter mounting holes; add a support carrier if wall strength is insufficient.
- Hang the Elkay LZ8WSSSMC onto the bracket and fasten with two additional mounting screws to secure the frame to the wall.
- Connect the 3/8" O.D. copper water supply line to the shut‑off valve; ensure supply pressure is between 20–105 psi (filtered Elkay LZ8WSSSMC units require minimum 40 psi).
- Install the waste outlet using 1‑1/4" drain pipe extending 2" from the wall; connect to a P‑trap provided by installer.
- Maintain at least 6" clearance from cabinet louvers to wall for ventilation; install on a grounded 115V, 60Hz, 20A GFCI‑protected circuit.
- Mount the bottle filler: remove the top cover, secure the wall plate above the basin with six 7/16" screws, then set the filler onto the basin and attach to angled tabs on the plate.
- Feed the power cord and 3/8" water line through the basin and cooler, then connect internally to the Elkay LZ8WSSSMC cooler fittings.
- Install the filter cartridge (filtered Elkay LZ8WSSSMC units only): remove protective cap, mark installation date, and insert firmly into the filter head with label facing outward.
- For detailed steps, refer to the installation manual provided in the package or contact a licensed plumber/electrician.
- Inspect all drain and water connections on the Elkay LZ8WSSSMC regularly for leaks; tighten or reseal as needed.
- Replace the filter annually or when the LED indicator shows red; reset the filter monitor after replacement.
- Flush at least two gallons of water after filter changes to purge air and carbon particles.
