The Pentair 4005450 Easy Flow system installs directly under the sink and connects to your existing cold water line, giving you filtered drinking water straight from your current faucet. No plumbing modifications are required, and most installations take 15 minutes or less.
Before You Begin
- Tools needed: #1 size Phillips screwdriver (supplied), two wrenches (supplied), a flashlight, and a towel or shallow tray to catch excess water.
- Safety first: There must be a shutoff valve installed ahead of the system. Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system. Cold water use only, and protect the system from freezing to prevent cracking and leaks.
- Batteries: The system's Filter Life Indicator requires 2 AA batteries (included).
Step-by-Step Installation Guide
- Install the batteries: Remove the screw from the black battery cover using the supplied Phillips screwdriver. Install the two AA batteries with the correct + and – orientation, then replace the cover.
- Shut off and drain the water: Turn off the cold-water shutoff valve under the sink. Open the cold-water faucet to release pressure and drain the water, then leave the faucet open.
- Disconnect the cold-water line: Place a tray or towel under the connection to catch excess water. Using a wrench, disconnect the cold-water hose from the cold-water line near the shutoff valve. Do not disconnect it from the faucet.
- Connect the filtration system: Connect the white inlet hose to the cold-water shutoff valve, tightening it securely (typically 5 turns). Then connect the blue outlet hose to the cold-water hose leading to the faucet, using two wrenches to securely tighten the fitting.
- Check for leaks and flush: Wipe the system and surrounding area dry. Slowly open the water shutoff valve while checking all connections for leaks. Open the faucet fully and flush the filter for 15 minutes, or until the water runs clear if carbon fines appear.
- Activate the filter timer: Press and hold the Filter Life Indicator Button for 5 seconds. The blue light will flash 4 times to confirm that the filter life timer has started.
