Q: What plumbing is required for the KMD-505MWJ?
A: This model requires a standard icemaker water supply and drain line, plus a separate condenser water supply and drain/return line since it is water-cooled.
Q: How does the KMD-505MWJ differ from the KMD-505MRJZ and KMD-505MAJ/KM-530MAK?
A: The MWJ is water-cooled, offering the highest ice output (555 lbs/24hr @ 90°/70°F) and lowest energy use, but requires additional condenser water plumbing. The MRJZ is air-cooled with a remote condensing unit installed away from the machine head. The MAJ (replaced by KM-530MAK) is a fully self-contained air-cooled unit with no remote unit or water lines needed; the KM-530MAK also uses eco-friendly R-290 refrigerant instead of R-404A.
Q: What bins are compatible with the KMD-505MWJ?
A: Compatible bins include B-500SF, B-700SF, B-800SF, B-900SF, B-1150SS, and B-1300SS, among others listed in the bin specification sheets.

Installation
This icemaker must be installed in accordance with applicable national, state, and local codes and regulations. Do not install the icemaker in a corner where the door will interfere with other equipment or where the icemaker cannot be pulled out for service.
Maintenance
Clean and sanitize this icemaker at least once a year. In certain water conditions, more frequent cleaning and sanitizing may be necessary.
