Q: Does the KMD-505MRJZ require a separate condenser unit?
A: Yes, it requires the URC-5FZ remote condenser (sold separately), connected via a brazed refrigerant line set up to 35 feet away.
Q: What is the difference between the KMD-505MWJ, KMD-505MRJZ, and KMD-505MAJ/KM-530MAK?
A: The KMD-505MRJZ uses a split/remote condensing system with the compressor located separately via the URC-5FZ unit, offering middle-range output (490 lbs/24hr @ 90°/70°F). The KMD-505MWJ is water-cooled with higher output (555 lbs/24hr), while the KMD-505MAJ (now replaced by the KM-530MAK) is fully self-contained air-cooled with lower output (415 lbs/24hr) and no remote unit required; the KM-530MAK also uses R-290 refrigerant instead of R-404A.

Installation
This icemaker must be installed in accordance with applicable national, state, and local codes and regulations. Do not install the icemaker in a corner where the door will interfere with other equipment or where the icemaker cannot be pulled out for service.

Clean and sanitize this icemaker at least once a year. In certain water conditions, more frequent cleaning and sanitizing may be necessary.
