How to Replace the 55897C Filter:
- Turn off the water supply using the shut‑off valve.
- Relieve pressure by opening the bubbler or activating the fountain.
- Remove the old 55897C filter by rotating counterclockwise and pulling downward.
- Insert the new 55897C filter by pushing upward into the head and rotating clockwise until secure.
- Turn the water supply back on and flush the system for at least 3 minutes to remove air and carbon fines.

The Halsey Taylor 55897C WaterSentry® VII Replacement Filter is NSF/ANSI 42 and 53 certified for the reduction of lead, chlorine, taste & odor, and particulate Class I. It is designed for use with select Halsey Taylor water coolers and drinking fountains.
Key Installation Requirements:
- Cold water line only (40–100°F operating temperature)
- Maximum inlet pressure: 105 psi (7.4 Kg/cm²)
- Minimum inlet pressure: 20 psi (1.4 Kg/cm²)
- Flow rate: 1.5 GPM (5.7 LPM)
- Allow minimum 13" clearance below filter head for cartridge changes

Basic Installation Overview:
- Mount filter head securely using bracket and screws supplied.
- Connect cold water supply valve to filter inlet via shut‑off valve and 3/8" O.D. tubing.

- Insert filter cartridge into head and rotate clockwise until fully seated.
- Turn on water supply and flush approximately 1 gallon to purge air and carbon particles.
