Q: How Often Should I Replace the Elkay 51300C Filter?

Q: What does the 51300C Filter remove from water?

A: The Elkay 51300C is NSF certified to reduce lead, chlorine taste and odor, Class I particulates , cysts, and microplastics.

Q: My specs say I need the ECF3000 filter, but can't find it. Will this work?

A: Yes. The ECF3000 filter has been discontinued and replaced by the 51300C filter. 

Q: I currently have a Non-filtered unit, but want to convert it. Will this filter work?

A: You will want to order the EWF3000, which will convert your existing system into a filtered one. Then, you can order this 51300C model as the replacement filter. 

Q: Do these filters have a shelf life?

A: The filters do not have a shelf life, but they should be stored in a place protected from moisture.

Q: How to change the Elkay 51300C Filter?

A: Follow these steps: 

1. Turn off the water supply and unplug the unit to ensure safety.
2. Remove the lower cover by unscrewing the screws on the underside of the cooler.
3. Relieve the pressure by dispensing water through either the bubbler or the bottle filler. 
4. Turn the used filter clockwise to remove it from the filter head.
5. Insert the new filter and twist it clockwise until it locks into place.
6. Turn on the water supply and plug in the unit.

7. Flush the filter for about five minutes to remove any air bubbles and reset the filter status light.

Q: Does the Elkay 51300C contain an RFID chip?

A: Yes. The RFID Chip is for authentic 51300C models only, and automatically shows the proper filter status, automatically resetting a new filter and notifying when it's time to change the filter.
