Typical Installation:
The Zurn 8-ZW209FPG requires upstream and downstream pressure gauges as mandated by Underwriters Laboratories (UL). A relief valve of not less than 1/2 inch in size must be installed on the downstream side of the pressure control valve with adequate drainage for the relief valve discharge. The valve must be installed in accordance with NFPA 13 for sprinkler systems or NFPA 14 for standpipes and hose systems, and maintained according to NFPA 25. Recommended installation orientation is horizontal with valve cover up; 6 inch and larger valves should only be installed horizontally due to air bleeding and maintenance requirements.
