Local codes shall govern installation requirements. The assembly shall be installed in accordance with the manufacturers' instructions and the latest edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code. The assembly shall be installed with sufficient side clearance for testing and maintenance. The Zurn 4-500XL3F may be installed in any position. Multiple installations, in series (back to back) are recommended for wide demand variations or where the desired pressure reduction is more than 3 to 1 (ie: 150 psi inlet reduced to 50 psi outlet).

A: Yes, anytime the reducing valve is adjusted, a downstream pressure gauge must be used to verify correct pressure setting. The valve body is tapped and plugged for gauge installation (1/4 NPT).
