We do our best to estimate ship dates but orders shipping directly from the manufacturer can have unexpected delays. Multiple installations in series are required when the desired pressure reduction is more than 3 to 1 ratio. The assembly shall be installed with sufficient side clearance for testing and maintenance. If using a 3 inch valve at low flows and higher pressure reduction ratios above 3 to 1, a low flow bypass may be needed to handle flows under 10 gpm. Local codes shall govern installation requirements and the assembly shall be mounted in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and the latest edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code.
Standards Compliance:

FAQ
Q: What is the adjustable pressure range for the Zurn 3-500XL3?
A: The reduced pressure range is adjustable from 15 PSI to 75 PSI, with a factory preset at 50 PSI. Always use a downstream pressure gauge when adjusting to verify correct pressure setting.
Q: Can this valve be installed in any orientation?
A: Yes, the Model 500XL3 may be installed in any position, including horizontal and vertical orientations, providing flexibility for various installation requirements.
Q: When should I use multiple valves in series?
A: Multiple installations in series are required when the desired pressure reduction is more than 3 to 1 ratio (for example, reducing 150 PSI inlet to 50 PSI outlet). For pressure reduction ratios above 3 to 1 at low flows, a low flow bypass may also be needed.
NOTICE: Do not use with water that is unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection either before or after the system.
