Commercial plumbing systems and industrial water distribution lines where high inlet pressure must be reduced to lower outlet pressure. The Zurn 2-500XL3 may be installed in any position. Multiple installations in series are required when the desired pressure reduction is more than 3 to 1. Suitable for outdoor and vertical installations with sufficient side clearance for testing and maintenance.

Q: Can this valve be installed in any orientation?
A: Yes, the Model 500XL3 may be installed in any position including horizontal, vertical, or outdoor installations, provided there is sufficient side clearance for testing and maintenance.
Q: When is a multiple valve installation required?
A: Multiple installations in series are required when the desired pressure reduction is more than 3 to 1 ratio (for example, reducing 150 PSI inlet to 50 PSI outlet). For 2-1/2" to 4" valves at low flows with high pressure reduction ratios above 3 to 1, a low flow bypass may be needed to handle flows under 10 GPM.
