The Pentair FDF1-RC (655123-96, 12 Pack; 4005737, 1 Pack) is the replacement cartridge for the Pentair FreshPoint F1000-DFB Single Stage Filtration System. It is designed for chlorine taste and odor reduction and is not interchangeable with the F1B1-RC cartridge used in the F1000-B1B system.
Step-by-Step Replacement Guide
- Relieve pressure by turning off the water supply to the system and opening the faucet until water flow stops. Place a bucket or towel under the system to catch any drips.
- Lift the locking bar upward until the filter cartridge disengages from the filter head assembly.
- Pull the cartridge away from the filter head assembly, and make sure the locking bar stays fully in the up position.
- Align the posts on the new filter cartridge with the ports on the filter head assembly, then slide the cartridge into place. This engages the locking bar, causing it to drop forward and down.
- Pull the locking bar down until it snaps securely into place.
- Slowly turn the water supply back on and open the faucet, letting it run for 10 minutes to flush the new cartridge (discard this water — carbon fines may appear at first, keep flushing until clear). Check all fittings for leaks before finishing up.
