- Shut off the cold water supply under the sink.
- Open the faucet to release pressure and drain remaining water.
- Press and hold the Filter Release Button while firmly holding the base, then pull up to remove the old filter.
- Insert the new RC-LCT filter into the base until an audible click confirms proper seal.
- Open the water shutoff valve.
- Run the faucet fully open for 15 minutes to flush the new filter.
- Press and hold the Filter Life Indicator Button for 5 seconds to restart the timer.

Over time, the RC-LCT cartridge's filtering media becomes saturated and loses its ability to reduce contaminants effectively, even if water still flows normally. Replace it every 3,000 gallons or 1 year, whichever comes first, or sooner if you notice a change in taste, odor, or flow.
Compatibility
The RC-LCT/4005730 is the genuine replacement cartridge for the Pentair Easy Flow Under Counter Water Filtration System (Model 4005450). It is not a universal cartridge and is designed to fit only the Easy Flow system.
Step-by-Step Replacement Guide
- Shut off the cold water supply by turning the cold-water valve under the sink clockwise.
- Turn on the cold water faucet to release pressure and drain the remaining water from the hose. Leave the faucet open.
- Press and hold the Filter Release Button while holding the base firmly, then pull up on the old filter to remove it.
- Insert the new RC-LCT filter into the base of the Easy Flow system — an audible click confirms it's properly sealed.
- Open the water shutoff valve by turning it counter-clockwise.
- Open the faucet completely and let water flow for 15 minutes to flush the new filter. (Some carbon fines or cloudiness may appear at first — this is normal and will clear.)
- Press and hold the small Filter Life Indicator Button for 5 seconds — the blue light will flash 4 times to confirm the replacement timer has restarted.
