- Turn off the water supply and relieve pressure by dispensing some water.
- Remove the old EV985850 filter by twisting it counterclockwise (1/4 turn) and pulling it downward.
- Insert the new EV985850 filter by pushing it upward into the head and twisting clockwise (1/4 turn) until it locks securely.
- Turn the water supply back on and flush the EV985850 filter for 3–5 minutes to purge air and flush the media.
- Check for leaks around the filter head and confirm proper operation.

- Turn off cold water supply and relieve pressure by opening faucet.
- Verify under‑sink mounting location: measure 15" (EF‑1500), 20" (EF‑3000), or 22" (EF‑6000) from cabinet base for filter head placement.
- Ensure adequate clearance above head for shut‑off valve operation and below cartridge (2‑1/2") for future replacement.
- Apply plumber’s tape to union fittings and elbow; connect to inlet side of filter head and secure with screws and washers.
- Connect braided tubing from cold water shut‑off valve to filter head inlet; connect outlet tubing back to faucet cold line.
- Insert Everpure EF cartridge (EV985850 EF‑1500, EV985750 EF‑3000, EV985550 EF‑6000) into head: push upward, align lug with label, rotate clockwise 1/4 turn until seated.
- Lift QC valve handle to stop flow; lower handle to flush system. Run water for at least 5 minutes to purge air and carbon particles.
