The Zurn Z6915-XL is designed for deck-mount installation in retrofit and new construction projects. Professional installation by a licensed plumber is strongly recommended to ensure proper water supply connections, sensor wiring, and leak-free operation.
Key Installation Requirements:
- Deck-mount installation on a lavatory or sink
- Tempered water supply with a shut-off stop
- Standard 3/8" x 1/2" ball riser (not included)
- Operating water pressure of 20-80 PSI
- Operating water temperature of 35°F to 140°F
Important Notes Before Installing the Z6915-XL:
- The faucet does not include a ball riser. It must be supplied separately by the installer.
- Flush all water lines before installation to remove debris.
- Do not place sensor units across from each other or close to highly reflective surfaces.
- Use the supplied inlet filter unless a mixing tee or mixing valve was ordered. Those options have integral filters and take its place.
- Connect the sensor cable before installing the batteries, and do not use thread sealant on the electronics module connection.
- Always refer to the official Zurn Z6915-XL Spec Sheet for dimensions and compliance information. Zurn notes the dimensions are for reference only and should not be used for pre-plumbing.
Basic Installation Overview:
- Turn off the water supply, remove any existing faucet, flush the supply lines, and clean the mounting area.
- Pass the sensor connector wire and shank through the base plate gasket and sink hole, then secure the faucet from below with the mounting washer, star washer, and mounting nut without pinching the sensor wires.
- Align the sensor connector pins, press the connectors together without forcing them, and secure them with the locking ring.
- Attach the electronics module to the shank with the supplied hex nut and gasket, then tighten the hex nut.
- Loosen the battery cover screw with the supplied Allen wrench, install the 4 AA batteries, and secure the cover.
- Attach the inlet filter to the electronics module's water inlet, then connect the tempered water supply with a 3/8" x 1/2" ball riser.
- Turn on the water supply, check all connections for leaks, and test the sensor.
