Installation
- Position the Elkay ER101Y remote chiller in a permanent indoor location; do not install outdoors or in humid environments.
- Allow proper ventilation: maintain at least 6" clearance at the front, 1" at each side, and 3" at the rear above the unit. If recessed, use wall grille EG‑1 or EG‑2 and ensure 6" clearance beyond grille front.
- Level the unit on a firm foundation; handle carefully to avoid damage to exterior panels.
- Shut off water supply before installation; flush all supply lines to remove debris.
- Connect potable water supply to the 3/8" O.D. inlet tubing using a shut‑off valve and union connection; install strainer if required.
- Connect drain line to the 3/8" O.D. tank drain; maintain a 2" vertical air gap to the floor drain and slope horizontal runs 1/4" per foot.
- Electrical connection: remove top cover, connect ground wire to ground screw, connect black wire to HOT and white wire to neutral. Use proper conduit connector and reinstall cover securely.
- Turn on water supply and purge air from lines by operating connected fixture until steady flow is achieved.
- Restore electrical supply and verify operation; factory set temperature is 50°F ± 5°F, adjustable via cold control screw.
- For detailed steps, refer to the Elkay ER101Y installation manual or contact a licensed plumber/electrician.
