- Position the Hoshizaki IM‑500SAB in a permanent indoor location with ambient temperature between 45°F–100°F and water temperature between 45°F–90°F.
- Allow proper clearance: 6" at rear, left side, and top; 12" at right side for air‑cooled models. Ensure firm, level foundation.
- Unpack the ice storage bin (recommended B‑700 series), attach adjustable legs, and place in location. Set the icemaker on top of the bin.
- Secure the icemaker to the bin using mounting brackets and bolts provided; level both units front‑to‑rear and side‑to‑side.
- Electrical connection must be hard‑wired to a dedicated 115V/60Hz/1‑phase circuit with 20A breaker; connect black wire to HOT, white to neutral, and ground to ground screw. Unit must be properly grounded.
- Connect potable water supply to the 1/2" FPT inlet using minimum 1/4" ID copper tubing; install shut‑off valve and drain valve.
- Connect icemaker drain to 3/4" FPT outlet using minimum 3/4" ID hard pipe; maintain 2" vertical air gap to floor drain and slope horizontal runs 1/4" per foot.
- Ensure refrigerant lines and fan blade are clear; compressor bolts snug on mounting pads.
- Open water supply, purge air from lines, and check all connections for leaks.
