- Turn off water supply and disconnect electrical power to the cooler or bottle filling station before installing the Elkay 51299C filter.
- Relieve pressure by dispensing water until flow stops.
- Remove the used filter by turning it 1/4 turn counter‑clockwise; pull down to detach from the filter head.
- Seal the used filter with the protective cap provided.
- Remove protective cap from the new 51299C filter cartridge; firmly insert into filter head and rotate 1/4 turn clockwise until locked in place.
- Ensure the front label is visible and facing forward once installed.
- Turn on water supply and flush for 10 minutes to purge air and fine carbon particles.
- Reconnect electrical power; verify green LED filter status indicator (if equipped) and reset filter monitor if necessary.
- For detailed steps, refer to the Elkay 51299C installation manual or contact a licensed plumber/electrician.
- Replace the Elkay 51299C filter every 1,500 gallons or 12 months, whichever comes first.
- Inspect water connections regularly for leaks; reseal or tighten fittings as needed.
