The Everpure EC210 (EV953420, 20 Pack; EV953426, 6 Pack) is a 10-micron sediment prefilter cartridge for Everpure E-20 and most 20" drop-in filter housings. It's designed to extend the life of your primary filter cartridge by catching dirt and rust particles before they reach it, and is commonly used in high-sediment foodservice applications.
Step-by-Step Replacement Guide
- Shut off the water supply to the housing and relieve pressure by opening a nearby faucet or the housing's pressure-relief button until flow stops. Place a bucket under the housing to catch residual water.
- Using a housing wrench, unscrew the sump (bowl) from the filter head by turning it counter-clockwise, then remove the old EC210 cartridge from inside the sump.
- Inspect the O-ring on the sump for wear or debris, cleaning or replacing it as needed to ensure a proper seal.
- Drop the new EC210 cartridge into the sump, then thread the sump back onto the filter head, hand-tightening until snug.
- Turn the water supply back on slowly and check the sump and fittings closely for leaks.
- Run water through the system at full flow for 5 minutes to flush out loose sediment and carbon fines before returning it to service.
