The Pentair F1GC-RC (655117-96, 12 Pack; 4005741, 1 Pack) is the final-stage GAC post-filter cartridge for the Pentair FreshPoint GRO-350B, GRO-475B, and GRO-575B Reverse Osmosis Systems. It polishes the water after the storage tank, removing residual taste, odor, and color just before it reaches the faucet, and should be replaced yearly along with the other pre-filter stages.
Step-by-Step Replacement Guide
- Relieve pressure by turning off the water supply to the system and opening the faucet until water flow stops. Place a bucket or towel under the system to catch any drips.
- Lift the locking bar upward until the post-filter cartridge disengages from the filter head assembly.
- Pull the cartridge away from the filter head assembly, and make sure the locking bar stays fully in the up position.
- Align the posts on the new F1GC-RC cartridge with the ports on the filter head assembly, then slide the cartridge into place. This engages the locking bar, causing it to drop forward and down.
- Pull the locking bar down until it snaps securely into place.
- Turn the water supply back on, check all fittings for leaks, then open the faucet and flush for 5 minutes to clear any carbon fines before using the water. It's normal for water to look cloudy at first — this clears within a few minutes.
