Installation
- Place the icemaker indoors on a firm, level surface with proper clearance (6" at rear, sides, and top).
- Mount the icemaker securely on a compatible ice storage bin or dispenser unit; use adapter kits if required.
- Connect the cold water supply line (1/2" FPT inlet, minimum 10 psi, maximum 113 psi). Install a shut‑off valve.
- Connect the drain lines (3/4" FPT outlet for icemaker, 3/8" OD condensation drain) with a proper air gap to a floor drain.
- For water‑cooled models, connect condenser water inlet (1/2" FPT) and outlet (3/8" FPT) separately.
- For remote models, connect to the recommended Hoshizaki URC‑5FZ remote condenser unit and follow refrigerant line set instructions.
- Hard‑wire the electrical connection per local code; ensure proper grounding. Use independent power supply of correct capacity.
- Turn on water supply, check for leaks, and then power on the unit to begin ice production.
- For detailed steps, refer to the installation manual provided in the package or contact a licensed plumber/electrician.
Maintenance
- Inspect water supply and drain connections regularly for leaks.
- Clean the condenser coil and fan area periodically to maintain airflow.
- Check refrigerant lines and compressor mounting pads for secure fit.
- Clean and sanitize the icemaker and bin liner at least once a year using Hoshizaki “Scale Away” cleaner and sanitizer.
- Replace external water filters as needed to maintain proper pressure and water quality.
- Do not operate the unit in freezing conditions; drain and prepare for non‑use if temperatures drop below 32°F (0℃).
- Always unplug and shut off water before servicing.
