Hoshizaki KM-901MAJ installation guidee

Installation

  • Ensure installation is performed by a qualified service technician; follow all national, state, and local codes.
  • Locate the KM‑901MAJ indoors on a firm, level foundation; ambient temperature must remain between 45°F–100°F (7℃–38℃).
  • Allow at least 12" (30 cm) clearance at rear, sides, and top for proper air circulation and service access.
  • Position the ice storage bin or dispenser unit; attach adjustable legs and level in both directions.
  • Remove panels (front, top, right side, insulation) to prevent damage during installation.
  • Connect icemaker water inlet to 1/2" FPT fitting; connect drain outlet to 3/4" FPT fitting using appropriate plumbing.
  • Install condensation drain outlet (3/8" O.D. tube) per diagram; ensure proper slope for drainage.
  • Provide independent electrical supply: 208–230V/60Hz/single phase; maximum fuse size 20A; icemaker must be grounded.
  • Connect pump (120V, 1.2 FLA) and fan motor (115V, 1.0A, 1/15 HP each) per wiring diagram; verify compressor rating (9.3 RLA, 46 LRA).
  • Check refrigerant charge: R‑404A, 3 lb. 4.9 oz.; design pressure HI‑467 PSI, LO‑230 PSI.
  • Inspect refrigerant lines to ensure they do not rub or touch other surfaces; verify fan blades turn freely.
  • Turn on water supply, check for leaks, and correct before startup.
  • Restore electrical power; move control switch to “ON” and verify icemaker operation.
  • For detailed steps, refer to the Hoshizaki KM‑901MAJ installation manual or contact a certified Hoshizaki service representative.

Maintenance

  • Follow a regular maintenance schedule; clean and sanitize icemaker at least twice per year.
  • Inspect condenser coil and air filters; clean to maintain efficiency.
  • Check water supply and drain connections regularly; reseal or tighten fittings as needed.
  • Verify ice bin control operation; adjust if ice production does not stop when bin is full.
  • Disconnect power and water supply before servicing internal components to avoid hazards.
  • Prepare icemaker for non‑use by draining water lines and disconnecting power if ambient temperature may drop below freezing.
  • For service or repairs, consult the manual or a certified service representative.
