Installation
- Place the icemaker indoors on a firm, level surface with proper clearance (6" at rear/sides, 24" at top for auger removal).
- Mount securely on a compatible ice storage bin (minimum 30" wide, B‑500 series recommended). Flaker and cubelet (-C) models cannot be installed on dispenser units.
- Connect the cold water supply line (1/2" FPT inlet, minimum 10 psi, maximum 113 psi). Install a shut‑off valve.
- Connect the drain line (3/4" FPT outlet) with a proper air gap to a floor drain.
- For remote models, connect to the recommended Hoshizaki URC‑22FZ remote condenser unit using proper refrigerant line set and electrical connections.
- Hard‑wire the electrical connection per local code; ensure proper grounding. Use independent power supply of correct capacity (208‑230V, single or three‑phase depending on model).
- Turn on water supply, check for leaks, then power on the unit to begin ice production.
- For detailed steps, refer to the installation manual provided in the package or contact a licensed plumber/electrician.
Maintenance
- Inspect water supply and drain connections regularly for leaks.
- Clean and sanitize the icemaker and bin at least twice a year using Hoshizaki “Scale Away” cleaner and sanitizer.
- Check condenser coil and fan area periodically to maintain airflow.
- Verify bin control operation (infrared sensor and mechanical backup) during routine service.
- Replace external water filters as needed to maintain proper water quality.
- Do not operate the unit in freezing conditions; drain and prepare for non‑use if temperatures drop below 32°F (0℃).
- Always unplug the unit and shut off water before servicing.
