Hoshizaki DCM-500BAH Installation guide

Installation

  • Position the Hoshizaki DCM‑500BAH in a permanent indoor location with ambient temperature between 45°F–100°F and water temperature between 45°F–90°F.
  • Allow at least 6" clearance at the rear and sides and 24" clearance at the top for proper air circulation and service access.
  • Level the icemaker front‑to‑rear and side‑to‑side; if mounting on a counter, seal the perimeter with approved caulk. Optional stand or legs may be used.
  • Electrical connection must be hard‑wired to a dedicated 115–120V/60Hz/1‑phase circuit with 20A breaker or fuse. Unit must be properly grounded.
  • Connect the icemaker water supply to the 1/2" FPT inlet using minimum 3/8" O.D. copper tubing; install a shut‑off valve and drain valve.
  • Connect the storage bin and drip tray drains to 3/4" FPT outlets; run separately to an approved floor drain with a minimum 2" vertical air gap.
  • Check refrigerant lines and fan blade for clearance; ensure compressor bolts are snug.
  • For detailed steps, refer to the installation manual provided in the package or contact a licensed plumber/electrician.

Maintenance

  • Clean and sanitize the water system and dispensing components regularly to maintain hygiene and performance.
  • Inspect and clean strainers, tubing, and drain lines to prevent clogs and ensure proper flow.
  • Check electrical connections and verify voltage against the nameplate rating.
  • Inspect refrigerant lines and compressor mounting pads; ensure fan blade turns freely.
  • Prepare the Hoshizaki DCM‑500BAH for long storage by draining the water system and disconnecting power if ambient temperature may drop below freezing.
  • Clean exterior panels with mild soap and water; avoid harsh chemicals or abrasives.
  • Disconnect power and water supply before servicing internal components to avoid hazards.
  • For service or repairs, consult the manual or a certified service representative.
