Everpure EV985550 EF-6000 Installation Guide

The Everpure EV985550 EF‑6000 Replacement Cartridge delivers premium quality water for drinking and cooking. It is NSF/ANSI 42, 53, and 401 certified for chlorine, taste & odor, particulate, lead, and cyst reduction, with a rated capacity of 6,000 gallons.


Key Installation Requirements:


  • Designed for use with Everpure EF Series systems (QL3 filter head required)
  • Cold water line only (35–100°F operating temperature)
  • Working pressure: 10–125 psi (0.7–8.6 bar), non‑shock
  • Install vertically with cartridge hanging down
  • Allow at least 2‑1/2" clearance below the filter head for cartridge changes
  • Flush new cartridge for 3 minutes before use to purge air and carbon fines

Important Notes Before Installing the EV985550:


  • Do not connect to hot water line.
  • Replace cartridge when capacity is reached, flow becomes slow, or at least once per year.
  • Certified to NSF/ANSI 42, 53, and 401 for chlorine, taste & odor, particulate Class I, lead, and cyst reduction.
  • Always refer to the official Everpure EF‑6000 Spec Sheet for detailed specifications and compliance information.

Basic Installation Overview:


  1. Mount the QL3 filter head securely under sink using bracket and screws supplied.
  2. Connect cold water supply valve to filter head inlet via shut‑off valve and tubing.
  3. Connect outlet tubing from filter head to faucet cold line.
  4. Insert EV985550 cartridge into head, push upward, and rotate clockwise 1/4 turn until seated.
  5. Turn on water supply and flush system for 3 minutes to clear air and carbon particles.
  6. Activate Timestrip® filter timer to track replacement schedule.
  7. Inspect all connections for leaks and correct as needed.
