Step-by-Step Replacement Guide
- Shut off the water supply to the housing and relieve pressure by opening a nearby faucet or the housing's pressure-relief button until flow stops. Place a bucket under the housing to catch residual water.
- Unscrew the sump (bowl) from the filter head by hand, turning it counter-clockwise, then remove the old CG5-10 cartridge from inside the sump.
- Inspect the O-ring on the sump for wear or debris, and clean, lubricate, or replace it as needed to ensure a proper seal.
- Drop the new CG5-10 cartridge into the sump, then thread the sump back onto the filter head by hand until snug. Do not use a housing wrench.
- Turn the water supply back on slowly and check the sump and fittings closely for leaks.
- Flush the cartridge at full flow for 3 minutes to purge air and loose carbon fines before returning the system to service.
