The Everpure EV910012 (CGS-12), also listed as the Pentair EV910012, is a low-profile Slim Line dual bowl filter housing for 10" drop-in cartridges, with the two bowls plumbed in series. It is made of durable polypropylene and supports flow rates up to 4 GPM through 1/2" inlet and outlet connections. It ships fully assembled with a water pressure gauge, a pressure-relief button for cartridge changes, and a wall mounting bracket with hardware. Cartridges are sold separately.
Before You Begin
- Tools needed: a drill or screwdriver, a level, two adjustable wrenches, PTFE (plumber's) tape, food-grade O-ring lubricant, a tube cutter or utility knife for your supply lines, a bucket, and a towel.
- Safety first: Install on the cold water line only. Make sure your water pressure and temperature are within the ratings of the cartridges you install. Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection.
- Cartridges: The CGS-12 holds two 10" drop-in cartridges, sold separately. Choose the cartridge types for your application, such as a sediment prefilter and a carbon cartridge, and confirm the water flows through them in the correct order.
Step-by-Step Installation Guide
- Choose a mounting location that can support the full weight of the system when it is operating, with the bowls hanging straight down and at least 2-1/2" of clearance below them for cartridge changes.
- Shut off the cold water supply, then secure the wall mounting bracket with the included hardware and hang the housing on it.
- Wrap the threaded connections with PTFE tape, then connect the supply line to the housing inlet and the line to your equipment to the outlet, following the flow direction marked on the filter head.
- Unscrew each bowl by hand, inspect the O-rings and lubricate them if needed, drop a cartridge into each bowl, and thread the bowls back on by hand until snug. Do not use a housing wrench.
- Turn the water supply on slowly, check the pressure gauge, and inspect the bowls and all fittings closely for leaks.
- Flush the system according to the instructions that came with your cartridges before returning it to service, and replace the cartridges every 6 months or when capacity is reached or pressure drops.
