The Elkay EWF172 WaterSentry® VII Filter Kit is designed for use with select Elkay drinking fountains and bottle filling stations. It provides cleaner, better‑tasting water by reducing lead, chlorine, and other contaminants.
Key Installation Requirements:
- Compatible with Elkay fountains and bottle fillers designed for EWF172
- Cold water line only (40–100°F operating temperature)
- Supply line pressure: 20–120 PSI
- Install filter in vertical position for proper flow
- Allow clearance for filter replacement and servicing
Important Notes Before Installing:
- Always depressurize water line before servicing or replacing filter
- Flush new filter for 5 minutes before use
- Replace filter every 3,000 gallons or 1 year, whichever comes first
- Do not install in areas subject to freezing temperatures
- Use only genuine Elkay filters to maintain certification and performance
Basic Installation Overview:
- Shut off water supply and depressurize line
- Remove old filter cartridge from filter head
- Insert new EWF172 cartridge into filter head and rotate clockwise until seated
- Turn on water supply and flush system for 5 minutes
- Check for leaks and confirm proper flow
- Reset filter status indicator if applicable
