Installation
- Position the Elkay ERS11Y remote water chiller in a permanent indoor location; do not install outdoors.
- Allow adequate clearance at the rear and sides for ventilation; ensure airflow around the condenser fan.
- Level the unit front‑to‑rear and side‑to‑side; if mounting under a counter, secure firmly to prevent vibration.
- Connect the cold water supply to the 1/2" FPT inlet using copper tubing; install a shut‑off valve and drain valve.
- Connect the drain to the 3/4" FPT outlet using minimum 3/4" ID hard pipe; maintain a 2" vertical air gap to the floor drain.
- Electrical connection must be to a dedicated 115V/60Hz/1‑phase circuit; ensure proper grounding.
- Confirm water pressure is between 20–105 psi; reverse osmosis water is compatible.
- Check refrigerant lines and compressor mounting pads; ensure fan blade turns freely.
- For detailed steps, refer to the Elkay ERS11Y installation manual or contact a licensed plumber/electrician.
Maintenance
- Inspect all water and drain connections regularly for leaks; tighten or reseal as needed.
- Clean condenser fins and cabinet exterior periodically to maintain cooling efficiency.
- Check water pressure and verify chilled water output (1.5 GPH at 50°F under rated conditions).
- Ensure stainless steel waterways remain free of scale or sediment; flush system if necessary.
- Disconnect power before servicing internal components to avoid electrical hazards.
- Prepare the Elkay ERS11Y for long storage by draining the water system and disconnecting power if ambient temperature may drop below freezing.
- For service or repairs, consult the manual or a certified Elkay service representative.
