Elkay designed it’s first unit back in 2010. This is the original, but it’s still a very popular unit today. It comes in filtered and unfiltered, as well as refrigerated and unrefrigerated varieties. It is a very popular unit in schools, and other high traffic applications. Here are some of the key benefits:

Elkay followed up it’s groundbreaking Original product with an improved version a few years later. This new model had some added features that customers were asking for, and quickly became a fan favorite. It retained all the benefits of the original, but added things like:
  ● Programmable refrigeration allowing for energy savings
  ● LED lighting to help illuminate filling area and dark hallways
  ● Easy filter-change functionality
  ● On-board diagnostics
  ● Automatic filter recognition for easy monitor reset

Model numbers ending in “P”

The Surface Mount units are another bottle-filler-only solution, but one that doesn’t have the wall cavity space requirements of the In-Wall units. These are just as they say, mounted on the surface. Essentially they are the top half of the combo units...with no fountain. The benefits of these units are:

  ● Small footprint
  ● Easy installation
  ● Options to address multiple different application needs:
     ○ Filtered or unfiltered
     ○ Powered, battery operated and units requiring no power source at all
     ○ Option to add remote chiller to make unit refrigerated

These units are not ezH2O units, but have similar options like refrigeration and filtration. These are made for applications where there isn’t sufficient wall space for either In-Wall or On-Wall units. These all require a plumbed water line, and electricity, and some will require a remote unit that is mounted in a cabinet below or near the counter. These units are perfect for settings suchs as office space, medical offices, dealership lobbies, retail, etc. Some benefits of these
include:
  ● Multiple profiles to fit many different needs
  ● Some units with ability to offer hot, chilled, or sparkling water
  ● Low-profile on-counter options like tap dispensers
  ● Some units with UV dispenser purification
  ● No drain line required

These units are made to give the option of turning a traditional water fountain into a bottle filling station combo unit. They come with the bottle filling portion of the unit, and have a new catch basin that replaces the one on the existing fountain. These units are made to tie into the existing plumbing and electrical, and add the option of adding filtration where it didn’t previously
exist.

**NOTE: We don’t recommend retro-fitting non-refrigerated units older than 10 years old, or refrigerated units older than 5 years old. (These new bottle fillers are made to demand a high output of water, and it can put too much strain on the older units, causing them to fail shortly after installation of the retro-fit. This will force you to buy a new fountain for the bottom half, and cost you more money in the long run than if you would have purchased a combo unit to begin
with.)
