Typical Installation:
The upstream and downstream pressure gauges are required by Underwriters Laboratories (UL). A relief valve of not less than 1/2 Inch in size must be installed on the downstream side of the pressure control valve. Adequate drainage for the relief valve discharge must be provided. The valve is to be installed in accordance with NFPA 13 for sprinkler systems or NFPA 14 for standpipes and hose systems, and inspected, tested and maintained per NFPA 25. The recommended installation orientation is horizontal with the valve cover up; 6 Inch and larger valves should only be installed horizontally due to maintenance and air bleeding requirements.
