Typical Installation:
Local codes shall govern installation requirements. Unless otherwise specified, the assembly shall be mounted in accordance with the latest edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code. The valve may be installed in any position. The assembly shall be installed with sufficient side clearance for testing and maintenance. Multiple installations are recommended for wide demand variations or where the desired pressure reduction is more than 4 to 1 (ie: 200 psi inlet reduced to 50 psi outlet). Anytime a reducing valve is adjusted, a pressure gauge must be used downstream to verify correct pressure setting. Do not bottom adjustment bolt on bell housing.
Standards Compliance:
ASSE Listed 1003; IAPMO Listed; CSA Certified; Meets NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 (0.25% MAX. WEIGHTED AVERAGE LEAD CONTENT)
Features & Benefits:
- High Range Pressure Control: Adjustable pressure setting from 15-125 psi enables precise control for demanding residential and commercial applications.
- Enhanced Corrosion Resistance: Sealed cage washer design with stainless steel adjustment components provides superior corrosion protection for all installations including below-ground pit environments.
- Integral By-Pass Check Valve: Direct acting integral by-pass design prevents buildup of excessive system pressure caused by thermal expansion, protecting downstream plumbing components.
- Low Maintenance Design: Integral strainer captures sediment and debris while the accessible cartridge allows maintenance without removing the Zurn 114-NR3XLHRSC valve from the line.
FAQ
Q: What is the pressure adjustment range for the Wilkins 114-NR3XLHRSC high-range model?
A: The high-range sealed cage version (HRSC) provides an adjustment range of 15-125 psi for 1/2" through 1 1/4" sizes, offering greater flexibility than standard models.
Q: Can this valve be installed in any orientation?
A: Yes, the Zurn 114-NR3XLHRSC may be installed in any position. However, sufficient side clearance must be provided for testing and maintenance access.
Q: What is the maximum recommended pressure reduction ratio?
A: For optimal performance, pressure reductions should not exceed a 4:1 ratio. For greater reductions, multiple installations are recommended to ensure proper operation and valve longevity.
NOTICE: Do not use with water that is unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection either before or after the system.
