Q: Which ThinAir® hand dryer models is the Excel 40521 compatible with?
A: The Excel 40521 is designed for ThinAir® hand dryers originally equipped with the electrostatic HEPA filter kit. Previously installed ThinAir units without the electrostatic system cannot be retrofitted — a subassembly upgrade may be purchased by contacting Excel Dryer at (800) 255-9235.
Q: Can the Excel 40521 HEPA filter be cleaned with water?
A: No — the HEPA filter must never be cleaned or come into contact with water. Only the companion stainless steel mesh pre-filter (Part #40532) is designed to be rinsed and reused. The Excel 40521 must be fully replaced at the end of its service life.
Q: How often should the Excel 40521 be replaced?
A: Excel Dryer recommends replacing the HEPA filter once annually, depending on usage and environmental conditions. In environments with high levels of lint, dust, or airborne particles, the companion pre-filter (Part #40532) should be inspected and cleaned more frequently to protect the HEPA filter media.
NOTICE: Do not use with water that is unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection either before or after the system.
