When filter status light turns to red, the filter needs to be changed. Follow these steps:
1) Remove the bottom access panel.
2) Unplug unit
3) Unscrew old filter
4) Install new WaterSentry Plus filter.
5) Reset filter light back to green by removing top cover and pressing the black reset button. Select reset filter. The light should appear as green. Detailed instructions on filter light reset are included in produce package.

Q: How long do the 55898C Filters last?
A: Each 55898C Filter has a capacity of 3,000 Gallons, which is equivalent to approximately 19,200 20 oz. bottle fills. The average filter lasts about 6 months. It is recommended to leave in the filter no longer than 12 months even if the status light has not yet turned.
Q: What does the 55898C filter remove from water?
A: This Halsey Taylor 55898C filter is NSF certified to remove Lead, Chlorine Taste & Odor and Class 1 Particulate reduction.
Q: Do the filters have a shelf life?
A: The filters do not have a shelf life, but they should be stored somewhere protected from moisture.
Q: How hard is it to change a filter?
A: Changing a filter is fairly easy. There is NO NEED to turn off the water. Simply twist the used filter with a one fourth turn and replace with the new filter cartridge. Filter replacements are available in single or bulk order (View Options).

We reserve the right to charge an additional fee in addition to the regularly advertised shipping fee for shipping to remote areas not easily accessible by typical freight carrier means (i.e. islands only accessible by ferry). If your order falls into this category, you will be notified upon receipt of your order, and have the option to complete the purchase with additional fee or to cancel the order.
